How to Enter Windows 8 Safe Mode with Four Effective Ways

Always, we want to enter Windows safe mode to do something, such as reset Windows password.
So in this post, we show you how to enter safe mode in Windows 8 with four ways. How do they work? Go on with followings.
  1. Enter Windows 8 Safe Mode from Metro interface
  2. Enter Safe Mode in Windows 8 through Boot Menu
  3. Get into Windows 8 Safe Mode with new Added Boot Option in System
  4. Get into Windows Safe Mode by Pressing F8

Way 1: Enter Windows 8 Safe Mode from Metro interface

  1.  Move the Mouse to the right bottom corner of window, and choose Settings from pop-up sidebar.
  2. And then select Change PC Settings
  3. Turn to General option, and click Restart now under Advanced Startup on the right pane.

Way 2: Enter Safe Mode in Windows 8 through Boot Menu

  1. Press Win + R combination key to open Run program, type msconfig in the box.
  2. Turn to Boot Menu, and then choose current system. Tick Security Boot in Boot options. Click OK and reboot Windows 8.
    There are four options for choose.
  • Smallest: Safe Mode
  • Other shell: Safe Mode with Command Prompt
  • Active Directory Restore: Restore Active Directory Domain
  • Network: Safe Mode Connected with Network

Way 3: Get into Windows 8 Safe Mode with new Added Boot Option in System

  1. Press Win + X to open menu, and choose Command Prompt (Admin)
  2. Find Windows Boot Loader and type appropriate value of identification and description in the red part.
    bcdedit /copy {
    identificaion} /d "description (Safe Mode)"
    And then type the command and press Enter.
  3. Open Run program with Win + R, and type msconfig.
  4. Turn to Boot tag, choose Safe Mode, and tick Security Boot. Refer to Way 2.

Way 4: Get into Windows Safe Mode by Pressing F8

This way is similar to enter safe mode in Windows 7 or XP.
  1. Press Win + X to open menu and choose Command Prompt (Admin).
  2. Type bcdedit /set {default} bootmenupolicy legacy
  3. When Windows 8 computer begins to reboot, hold on pressing F8 to enter Advanced startup option.
Now, four ways to enter Windows 8 in safe mode have been introduced completely. If you just want to enter it once, way 1 is a good choice for you. If you enter Windows 8 safe mode usually, way 2 and way 3 become better. And you can consider way 4, maybe it would work but I don’t recommend it for you.
